A month of updates for the people who make live performance happen.

If you've ever stood in the wings waiting for a cue while someone scrambles to fix a bad audio file, you already know why we build troupeIT the way we do. Show day has enough surprises. Your software shouldn't be one of them.

Here's what we've shipped this July — the stuff that actually matters when you're building a show.

Your audio files get a real sound check — before show day

Every audio file you upload to troupeIT now goes through more than 20 AI and statistical verification checks. We're looking for the problems that don't announce themselves until the speakers are live: files that claim to be hi-res but aren't, lossy audio hiding inside a lossless wrapper, upscaled sources dressed up as premium quality, and stereo files that are really mono content wearing a stereo costume.

You'll see the results right where you need them:

• File Manager — spot issues while you're organizing assets
• Act lists — catch problems before they land in a cue
• Live View — know what you're working with during the run
• Show download pages — give your team a clear picture before they hit the deck

We also added clear warnings for mono-in-stereo files — stereo tracks that are actually single-channel content. They play fine on paper, but they can sound thin in the room and waste space you didn't need to spend. Now you'll know.

Think of it as a thorough sound check that runs automatically on every upload. Not because we don't trust you — because we've all been burned by a file that looked fine in the folder.

Settings that make sense (and security you can actually use)

We reorganized Settings so you're not hunting through a flat list of options. Things are grouped logically now — profile, security, devices, and more— so finding what you need feels more like reading a call sheet than decoding a manual.

We also added a Devices & Activity panel. You can:

• Review your recent sign-in history
• See where and when you've been logged in
• Sign out other sessions without kicking yourself off the device you're on right now

Very handy when you've logged in from a venue laptop, a home machine, and your phone — and you want to clean up without locking yourself out mid-rehearsal.

Small polish matters too: passkey names now read correctly in dark mode, and a few dropdown quirks in settings got ironed out.

Smarter uploads behind the scenes

If you've ever uploaded the same cue file twice — maybe to two different acts, maybe because you forgot you'd already added it — troupeIT now recognizes when the content is identical and handles it intelligently.

Same file, same show? We won't make you pay the storage toll twice (even with our free unlimited storage). Uploads can be faster when we've already seen that exact audio, and your asset library stays a little cleaner. It's the kind of thing you won't notice when it's working, which is exactly the point.

A smoother front door

We swapped our bot-protection system for Cloudflare Turnstile on login, registration, password reset, and support forms. Less friction for real humans, still solid protection against the automated nonsense that clogs up every public-facing app. Signing in should feel quick, not like solving a puzzle. You won't even notice it.

Under the hood (for the curious)

Not everything we ship has a button you can click, but it keeps the platform reliable:

• Rails 8.1.3 — staying current on the framework that powers troupeIT
• Deploy infrastructure updates — smoother releases, fewer surprises in production
• API documentation improvements — easier for developers and integrators to test with Bearer tokens

These aren't headline features, but they're part of how we keep the show running night after night.
